Stress or urge incontinence is a common problem in women, especially after child-birth. It is thought to affect millions of people. It results in involuntary leaking of small amounts of urine during physical movement, coughing, sneezing or exercising. Stress or urge incontinence can often be easily treated once correctly diagnosed.

MRI allows accurate diagnosis of this distressing condition. At Alliance Medical, pelvic scans can be performed with the patient sitting or standing, and repeated with the patient pushing down, straining into the pelvis. It is more physiologically relevant and offers a major advance in imaging this condition. MRI does not use x-rays and avoids the risk of radiation exposure, unlike traditional voiding cystograms
