Introduction to PET/CT Day 21st March 2015
On Saturday 21st March Alliance Medical joined in partnership with The Christie School of Oncology to deliver ‘An Introduction to PET/CT’ attended by 20 delegates. The course is endorsed by The Society and College of Radiographers and elements of it can be used towards CPD Now points for Radiographers.
The new Academy of Advanced Imaging at The Christie will be delivering first class PET-CT education, training and development in partnership with Alliance Medical Ltd for radiologists, scientists, technologists and radiographers through The School of Oncology.
The training day marks the first that will be delivered by the partnership, and it is believed that this will benefit a diverse mixture of professionals in the future. The day gave delegates a base level to PET/CT imaging and course subjects included a history of PET and PET/CT, fundamentals of PET and CT physics, preparation, procedures and protocols, radiation break-out sessions. It also included a presentation on the theory of a cyclotron, and its operation; delegates were asked to become part of a ‘human cyclotron’ which was a very lively part of the day.Overall the training day was fun and very interactive which supported learning to all participants, and post course feedback was very positive.
