Why have Alliance Medical partnered with the NHS?
We've been awarded a Government contract to provide NHS patients with improved access to cancer diagnostics - As a company, we have many years of experience in providing the NHS with a range of diagnostic services
- We're currently Europe's largest provider of PET/CT diagnostics and we're committed to providing NHS patients with an outstanding service
- Our expertise is extensive. For instance, we were the first in the UK to:
- offer a managed service PET/CT partnership with the NHS
- install an LSO Biograph PET/CT scanner
- offer a mobile PET service that didn't require the support of a Nuclear Medicine Department
- And, in Europe, we were the first to:
- launch mobile PET/CT services
- launch an independent imaging centre with PET/CT, 16 slice CT and Cardiac Optimised MR
What does this mean to me?
This service allows consultants to make positive differences to patient care management via access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment - By increasing the number of scans available to NHS patients, we can ensure that scans are completed quicker, allowing you to make more informed decisions about patient management faster than ever before
- And, a local service reduces the need for your patient to travel long distances
How does it work?
- When you request a PET/CT scan, our dedicated bookings team will organise your patient's appointment and ensure they receive all the information needed to prepare for their scan
- Once your patient's scan is booked, they'll be sent:
- A confirmation letter
- A patient guide including full details about their scan and the best way to prepare
- A map of the location
- Where relevant, a questionnaire
How well will my patient be looked after?
- We aim to give the best possible care to your patients
- You can be assured that your patient's privacy and dignity will remain a priority at all times
- And, to ensure we continue to meet and exceed these high standards, we provide all patients with feedback opportunities via a Patient Satisfaction Survey
Who will prepare my report?
- We have a team of leading specialists, including local NHS PET/CT reporters, to provide you with a first class reporting service
- The reporters all meet a minimum standard of qualification and experience, ensuring that you'll receive excellent reporting standards
- Scans are read by the reporting team, and the report dispatched to the referring Trust
- We know how important it is that you have contact to discuss your patient's results, so the reporting clinicians will be available for consultation and guidance
