Fluoroscopy
Overview
A Fluoroscopy is an imaging (scanning) technique which enables low intensity x-rays to be intensified- This method of scanning reduces the radiation dose to the patient and allows areas of the body to be examined in all directions
- Fluoroscopy is used for examinations such as angiography, or contrast studies of the digestive tract of the small or large intestine
- Procedures including angioplasty and face and joint injections of steroids for pain control rely on this method of scanning due to the sensitivity of contrast that the scan can provide
