PET overview
Positron Emission Tomography is an imaging tool that illustrates chemical and physiological changes within the patient using nuclear medicine. It is primarily used in the diagnosis and management of patient care in Oncology, however PET has other applications in both Cardiology and Neurology. It has proved very successful in the US and Europe making vital contributions to diagnostic imaging and Alliance Medical is looking forward to leading the rapid expansion of this modality in the UK. For more clinical information regarding PET, please view our case studies. If you are a patient and are awaiting a PET scan, please visit our Patient Zone where you will find more information about what you can expect from your scan. |
