MRI images of the brain

Image of the human body with the brain in focusMRI is used widely to investigate neurological diseases and conditions such as multiple sclerosis, infections, dementia, epilepsy, stroke and tumours.

The nerves leading to the ears and the eyes can be seen as well as the pituitary gland which controls the production of several hormones. If you're having a brain scan, you'll need to lie fairly flat on your back during the procedure.
