High speed 16 slice CT - Somatom Sensation Multislice scanner
One great advantage of 16-slice CT over conventional scanners is speed. The Sensation 16 allows larger patient volumes to be scanned in much shorter times. A good example is lung imaging, where the whole chest cavity can be imaged in one breath hold. This means that it is easier for the patient and all images are acquired in the same breath hold rather than in breath sequences.

The increase in speed of acquisition also has benefits across other clinical specialities. 16 slice CT’s high acquisition speed produces much sharper images enabling a range of more complex and detailed examinations.
