Alliance Medical Imaging Centre London has completed its first week of patient scanning at the Centre in Central London.

Colin Massey the Lead MR/CT Radiographer said; “Everything has gone very well since beginning operations in MRI and CT. Applications are almost complete with a week of specialised Cardiac MR applications work beginning on 17th February”.

A wide range of examinations is anticipated during the first weeks of operations with each of the specialist Clinical groups attending daily.
Visiting clinicians have reported that the image quality produced has exceeded their own expectations.

Orthopaedic and neurology patients have been scanned in addition to several referrals from speciality areas including Cardiac, Oncology and Chest imaging. This included one patient suffering from a particularly unusual condition benefiting greatly from images from the CMR. The reporting cardiologist also remarked that it was rare to find such an abnormality.

Patient feedback has been complimentary about the centre with particularly positive comments on the level of service received. Tiba Seear, Centre Director, commented, “ We have been pleased with the way in which business has started. All the staff have worked hard to ensure a smooth start up and we look forward to receiving further referrals in the coming weeks.”

The PET/CT suite is expected to start the applications period this week and will be fully operational as of 18th February 2003.
