Clinical Governance - Clinical Excellence in Imaging

  • Alliance Medical provides a safe and effective imaging service as it constantly monitors and evaluates its performance through a process of multi-disciplinary governance.
  • A Clinical Governance Group that consists of expert modality leads and senior operational managers, ensure that all Alliance Medical clinical policies and processes are based on current evidence and best practice guidelines, and that they will provide patients with the best possible outcomes.

Systems of Learning

  • Patient surveys indicating levels of satisfaction with our services are constantly on-going across our sites and services. These are reviewed both locally and centrally and the information we receive is used to make positive changes. Satisfaction survey results indicate high levels of excellent care.
  • A very important part of ensuring that patients are receiving safe, effective care is to review any adverse incidents and any complaints received. We have an automated reporting system that allows all senior managers to be involved in these at a very early stage. Through this system, learning across the organisation is shared and service improvements can be made.

Staff Development and Training

  • Our staff are our most important resource. Training them to use the equipment to the best of their ability is paramount. Through a practical training programme, all staff are assessed as being thoroughly competent in all aspects the modality and patient care. Staff are encouraged to maintain and extend their own professional development through hands-on learning as well as academic courses.

External regulation

  • Following successful registration to provide diagnostic services, under the Health and Social Care Act (Care Quality Commission) in October 2010, many of our sites have now been inspected and have been given excellent reports. These are available to view on the CQC website. We are proud of these achievements as many staff have worked hard to ensure the evidence of good patient care and high standards of imaging are visible to all.
