New Preston PET CT Centre Launched

  Alliance Medical and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals are delighted to announce the launch of the Preston PETCT Centre, the North West’s first managed service PETCT partnership. This purpose built facility is located on the Royal Preston Hospital site of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The new Centre, which opened in July 2007, offers access to state of the art technology and outstanding service. The PETCT scanner installed at the site is the first GE Discovery VCT system with 64-slice CT capability outside London.

Alliance Medical has been providing Mobile services to the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Network and surrounding regions since September 2005. The opening of this new static PETCT facility, Alliance Medical’s 4th PETCT Centre in the UK, will ensure that more patients in both the NHS and private sectors across the country will benefit from rapid, local access to this revolutionary diagnostic modality.

The centre will host a number of Open Afternoons providing an opportunity to tour the new facility, meet the staff and discuss the services offered.
