Day 2
Image Quality | CT in Oncology | Thoracic CT | Abdominal CT | Interactive Film Viewing

Lectures
The course is designed to provide an easy foundation to the fundamental elements of CT. Clinical experts deliver interactive sessions which consider CT techniques and approaches to imaging and pathological appearances on CT Images. These clinical experts are a combination of Radiologists and Radiographers who remain current in clinical practice.

History of CT The development of CT scanners, essential components and the image improvements associated.

Contrast Medium a discussion on the different preparations used for various examinations and pathologies.

Image Quality covers the fundamentals of CT principles that affect image quality and the important artefacts. To include image resolution, image noise, artefacts and reconstruction.

At this level, identification of artefacts and the appropriate techniques to eliminate them is discussed.

IRMER covers the regulations as appropriate to every day working practice. Discussion of pathway of a request. Referrers, practitioners and operators- who they are and what are their responsibilities. Practical working knowledge- optimisation of protocols. Procedural errors and how to deal with them.

Clinical Elements are covered by Radiologists specialising in that particular field.
