This course is a programme designed for Radiographers who wish to broaden their understanding of MRI into the more advanced clinical areas. This course looks at vascular techniques, function, perfusion and diffusion MRI and considers the advanced Gradient Echo sequences.

Intake
The course number will be limited to approximately 20 attendees. This will allow interaction with the lecturers, achieving the most from the two days.

Lectures
The course is designed to use a variety of teaching techniques and of speakers. Core physical principles are taught by a Clinical Physics Team who have taught on the courses since 1994. Their extensive experience enables them to clearly explain the principles and help develop your understanding of the complex elements of the physics. Clinical experts deliver interactive sessions considering MRI techniques and approaches to imaging and pathological appearances on MR Images. These clinical experts are a combination of Radiologists and Radiographers who remain current in clinical practice.

Proposed Lecture Programme

  • Day 1
Advanced Pulse Sequences | Perfusion, Diffusion and fMRI | Parallel Imaging Techniques | Breast MRI
  • Day 2
Clinical Advances in MRI | 1.5 VS 3T | MRI Radiographer Reporting | Cardiac MRI Techniques I | Cardiac MRI Techniques II | Safety Forum

Actual agenda may vary due to availability of speakers.

The physics content is designed to cover the advanced imaging techniques. In this course there is a higher degree of clinical integration into these more advanced topics.

Advanced Pulse Sequences and Parallel Imaging Techniques covers the remaining sequences and techniques not already covered, including echo Planar Imaging, 3D techniques and sequences used in cardiac imaging.

Perfusion, diffusion and fMRI concepts and clinical uses are covered in parallel.

Cardiac MRI Techniques covers the fundamental aspects of this growing clinical use for MRI.
